ALVIN, Texas -- The FFIEC Risk Management of Remote Deposit Capture Guidelines require financial institutions that provide the service to businesses (merchants) and consumers provide training and risk management guidance.
Tom Houston, President, T. Houston Technology Group, commented, “After months of research and development, we are publishing a comprehensive guide to Remote Deposit Capture. Our goal with the guide and training program is to make the financial institution’s job easier and provide the information they need to assist their customers.”

- New 2009 Remote Deposit Capture Requirements
- Check 21 Act and Remote Deposit Capture Operations Basics
- Check 21 and Remote Deposit Capture Warranties and Liabilities
- Security
- System Design and Architecture

Feyt added, “After requests from banks and vendors, we will provide 'branding' of the Guide as part of their advertising program.”
“We will begin shipping the guide and training materials on Friday, August 7, 2009, and will provide annual updates and immediate e-mail notification of significant changes to financial institutions and business partners on record,” said Feyt.
According to Houston, “Financial institutions and their customers will significantly benefit from the Rules and Training Guide, as it provides copious narratives, examples, and descriptions of the major components of Remote Deposit Capture creating a solid foundation on which to build training programs for the successful use of the technology.”
T. Houston Technology Group has provided hundreds of community banks and credit unions across the United States with Remote Deposit Capture resources since 2004 and training, marketing and consulting since 1989.
